MISAMIS ORIENTAL — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has officially released the schedule for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), with nationwide voting set for 2 November 2026.
The elections will cover all barangay and youth council posts, including barangay captain, kagawad, SK chairperson and SK kagawad.
Under the Comelec timeline, candidates may file their certificates of candidacy from 28 September through 5 October. A pre-election campaign moratorium will immediately take effect, strictly prohibiting any campaigning from 28 September to 21 October.
The official election period and a nationwide gun ban will run from 3 October to 9 November, while the authorized campaign window is scheduled from 22 to 31 October.
Comelec reminded candidates and voters to strictly follow the timeline and rules to ensure a peaceful, fair and orderly process.
