A highly dangerous armed criminal group was neutralized during a high-stakes home invasion in Barangay Concepcion Dos, Marikina City early Monday morning, 13 July.
Police operatives apprehended five heavily armed men who impersonated law enforcement authorities to execute a violent robbery and illegal detention inside a residential community.
The operation led to the immediate arrest of the primary suspects identified by their aliases Ahorn, 27; Don-Don, 52; Oryong, 21; Ric, 42–all residents of Nueva Ecija and Isabela; and alias Beshir, 43.
Another suspect identified only by the alias Lloyd and three unidentified cohorts managed to evade arrest and are now the targets of a massive manhunt.
Initial investigation disclosed that the armed suspects suddenly barged into the residence while the homeowners, along with otherhousehold companions, were resting.
Presenting three copies of a falsified warrant of arrest, the suspects aggressively introduced themselves as police officers conducting a legitimate operation against one of the victims.
Once inside, the gang systematically severed the residence's Wi-Fi network connection and destroyed the security CCTV cameras to eliminate visual evidence. They then placed the witnesses in plastic cable ties and duct tape, holding the occupants at gunpoint while ransacking the home to steal valuable electronics, high-end timepieces, cash, and assorted gold jewelry.
Despite the extreme duress and intimidation, the victim managed to discreetly utilize a mobile phone to send an emergency distress signal directly to the local police stationwhile the suspects were actively destroying the home's Wi-Fi connection and CCTV cameras.
Responding with speed and tactical precision, emergency response teams from Police Sub-Station 8 of the Marikina City Police Station, rushed to the scene. The operatives cornered the suspects inside the perimeter, neutralizing their ability to resist and placing them under strict police custody.
Recovered from the suspects were one unit iPad Pro color blue; one Victorinox wristwatch; one chamber-loaded 9mm pistol firearm with two magazines and nineteen ammunitions; four chamber-loaded improvised firearms (sumpak); a black sling bag; plastic cable ties; duct tape; five black balaclava masks; five android mobile phones; assorted IDs of the suspects; a wire cuttee; and three copies of the falsified warrant of arrest.
Criminal complaints for robbery with violence against or intimidation of persons, isurpation of authority, violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), slight illegal detention, and falsification of public documents are currently being processed for Inquest Proceedings.
Eastern Police District (EPD) Acting Director Police Brigadier General Melecio Buslig Jr. declared that the district will relentlessly hunt down and break any criminal group that threatens the safety of local neighborhoods. "
"The swift resolution of this heavily armed home invasion is a testament to the readiness of our personnel and the importance of community vigilance. These criminals did not just commit a heinous robbery; they weaponized the identity of the Philippine National Police to violate the sanctity of a private home and terrorize innocent citizens," Buslig said.
"We will not tolerate criminal elements masking themselves as officers of the law to advance their lawless designs,” the EPD chief added.
