NBI seeks charges in Ateneo student-athletes drowning

National Bureau of Investigation Homicide Division personnel arrive at the Department of Justice on 13 July 2026 to recommend the filing of complaints against former members of the Ateneo Blue Eagles men's basketball coaching staff and other officials in connection with the deaths of Ateneo student-athletes Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili, who drowned during a team-building activity in Dipaculao, Aurora, on 8 June.
