Ryan Gosling takes on an extraordinary journey beyond Earth in the science fiction film based on Andy Weir's best-selling novel, with the movie set to premiere globally on Prime Video on 3 July.
The story follows Ryland Grace, a mild-mannered science teacher who regains consciousness aboard a spacecraft far from home with no memory of his identity or how he ended up there. As fragments of his past gradually return, he discovers that he has been entrusted with a mission unlike any other: finding a way to stop a mysterious force that threatens the survival of the sun — and, ultimately, all life on Earth.
Forced to rely on his scientific expertise, ingenuity, and resourcefulness, Grace races against time to solve a problem that could determine humanity's future. Along the way, an unexpected ally changes the course of his mission, proving that hope can emerge even in the most unlikely places.
The film stars Gosling alongside Sandra Hüller, James Ortiz, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, Milana Vayntrub and Priya Kansara.
Behind the camera are Academy Award-winning filmmakers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, directing from a screenplay by Drew Goddard. The project adapts Andy Weir's acclaimed novel, continuing the author's tradition of blending compelling science with character-driven storytelling.
Rated PG-13 for thematic material and suggestive references, Project Hail Mary promises a thrilling mix of suspense, humor, science, and heart as one man faces impossible odds to save humanity while discovering that survival may depend as much on connection as it does on intellect.
