Around 70 families in Antipolo City have received land titles under the Community Mortgage Program (CMP), marking a milestone in their long-standing efforts to secure ownership of the land they occupy.

The Social Housing Finance Corp. (SHFC) and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) awarded Transfer Certificates of Title to beneficiaries from San Isidro Labrador Homeowners' Association Phase 1, 2, and 3 during a ceremony held in Barangay San Roque on 1 July.

The title awarding was led by DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, SHFC President and Chief Executive Officer Federico Laxa, and Antipolo City Mayor Casimiro Ynares III. The activity highlighted the government's efforts to provide secure land tenure through the CMP, one of the housing initiatives under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

Laxa said the CMP continues to help low-income families achieve legal ownership of the land they have long occupied.

“Napaka-swerte po ninyo dahil ngayong araw na ito ay matatanggap na ninyo ang pinapangarap ninyong titulo sa mga lupain ninyo, kaya binabati ko po kayo sa matagumpay ninyong pagkamit ng inyong inaasam-asam na dokumento,” he said.

Ynares, meanwhile, thanked the national government for accelerating housing programs in the city, saying land titles provide beneficiaries not only legal ownership but also security, peace of mind, and greater opportunities to improve their quality of life.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, homeowners' association president Elmer Reyes said the titles represent years of sacrifice and perseverance.

“Ang mga titulong ating tinanggap ngayon ay hindi lamang legal na dokumento, ito ay simbolo ng ating mga pangarap, mga sakripisyo, at katiyakan ng ating paninirahan,” Reyes said.

The ceremony followed another title awarding activity in Antipolo last week, where more than 130 families from Sitio Sto. Niño de Pasig Homeowners' Association in Barangay Sta. Cruz also received their land titles.

SHFC, a key shelter agency under DHSUD, implements community-driven housing programs for low-income families through the CMP and Enhanced Community Mortgage Program, providing organized communities with access to affordable financing and land ownership opportunities.
