A 34-year-old man was arrested on Sunday evening after he allegedly threatened his wife with a bladed weapon during a domestic altercation inside their residence in Barangay Pinagsama, Taguig City.
The suspect was identified only by the alias Anthony, a resident of this barangay.
The case stemmed from a domestic dispute that transpired at around 8 p.m. at a residence along Guyabano Street in Panam Village.
According to the initial investigation, a heated argument broke out between the victim and her husband. During the altercation, the suspect suddenly drew a bolo, pointed it at his wife, and explicitly threatened to end her life. Fearing for her safety, the victim managed to escape and ran directly to a nearest police sub-station to seek assistance.
Reponding police officers immediately deployed to the residence alongside the victim. Upon arrival, operatives caught the suspect still holding the bladed weapon, prompting them to arrest the arrest.
Following the apprehension, a procedural body search was conducted, which led to the discovery of a concealed, loaded improvised firearm (sumpak) in the suspect's possession.
Confiscated from the suspect were one bolo, and one unit of an improvised handgun loaded with one live round of caliber 5.56mm ammunition.
The suspect was brought to the Station Investigation and Detective Management Section for proper documentation and the filing of appropriate criminal charges through inquest proceedings before the City Prosecutor's Office.
He is now facing charges for Grave Threats, Illegal Possession of Bladed, Pointed, or Blunt Weapons, and Ccomprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
