DOJ: Pilipinas maaaring magsuko ng suspek sa ICC
Nilinaw ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na maaaring isuko ng Pilipinas ang isang suspek sa International Criminal Court (ICC) alinsunod sa umiiral na Republic Act 9851.
Ayon kay DOJ Spokesperson Atty. Polo Martinez, nananatiling pareho ang posisyon ng DOJ na walang batas na nagbabawal sa gobyerno na makipagtulungan sa ICC habang hinihintay ang magiging desisyon ng Korte Suprema.
Ipinaliwanag din ng opisyal na bukod sa pagsuko ng suspek sa naaangkop na international court o tribunal, maaari ring gamitin ang extradition bilang paraan.
Nauna nang sinabi ni NBI Director Melvin Matibag na kokonsulta sila sa DOJ kaugnay ng pagpapatupad ng ICC warrant.
