A 24/7 shopping and delivery company in China launched a special service for people who could not be with their families or others to celebrate the Lunar New Year (LNY).

The Henan-based company UU Paotui offered three kinds of personalized LNY greetings that could be booked through its app, with the courier himself doing the tasks chosen by the customers who watched live on their smartphone. The customer paid for the gifts given to the family.

One of the greeting packages was the 39-yuan placing of Fu symbols and door cleaning in the home of the customer’s family, NDTV reports, citing Jimu News. Another greeting was the 199-yuan purchase of gifts, offering of brief greetings, collecting of laisi (omens) from elders, and transferring of the money contained in the customary red packet to the customer, according to NDTV.

The third package combined the first two services, plus a koutou wherein the courier knelt and placed his forehead on the ground to express gratitude and respect to parents or teachers. The ceremony was two hours long and cost 999 yuan.

Meanwhile, Fox News recalled a diver’s thrilling knee act 100 feet underwater on 10 April 2023 to highlight diving destinations in Fiji and one of his memorable life experiences.

Kim and William Patterson, both avid divers from Auckland, New Zealand, joined a group dive to the Salamanda shipwreck, a sunken ship resting perfectly upright on the seabed, on that day.

Before diving, William discreetly asked the dive team to take a video of him and Kim in front of the shipwreck, using his GoPro camera.

As another diver prepared to shoot, Paterson produced a ring underwater and dropped to one knee, Fox News reported.

Kim recalled feeling shocked and excited by the underwater wedding proposal. William put the engagement ring on her finger and they sealed their romantic pact with a kiss.

A celebration followed after the divers resurfaced.
