Kia Philippines has been named Regional Distributor of the Year for Asia Pacific at the 2026 Kia Global Distributors Convention held in Australia. It is the first time the Philippine distributor has received the recognition from Kia’s global headquarters.

The award was announced during the annual gathering of Kia’s global network, where subsidiaries and distributors from five regions were evaluated. Only one top performer per region was selected.

Alongside the Philippines in the Asia Pacific, other awardees came from the United States, Peru, Denmark and Northern Iraq.

Kia Philippines was recognized for its performance across several key areas. These included sales volume, growth in both wholesale and retail, gains in market share and dealer capacity. The citation placed the Philippine operation at the top of the Asia Pacific region for the past year.

The convention brought together Kia executives and distributor leaders to review results and plans for the coming year.

During the ceremony, Kia president and CEO Ho Sung Song presented the award to Kia Philippines Managing Director Jay Lopez. A company photo shows the two executives onstage during the event in Australia.

Lopez said the award shows the work of the local team and dealer partners. He noted that competing against larger and more established markets makes the recognition meaningful for the Philippine operation.

Kia Philippines operates under ACMobility, Ayala Corporation’s mobility platform. The brand has 40 dealerships nationwide.

The Regional Distributor of the Year award places the Philippine unit among Kia’s top-performing operations worldwide.
