Senator Mark Villar probes the rise of Chronic Kidney Cases
Senator Mark Villar expressed concerns over a looming public health crisis in the country on Thursday, 26 February, 2026. The Senator filed Senate Resolution No. 313 calling for an urgent inquiry into the prevalence of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in the Philippines, especially among the youth. Department of Health also said that there are children up to nine years old having these cases. Senator Villar seeks to review the government’s current programs and interventions concerning CKD, from its awareness campaigns to the actual support it gives to patients undergoing treatment.
