Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) is moving beyond warehouses into retail-focused infrastructure, with its logistics arm partnering with Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. to build a standalone Shopwise “big box.”

In a stock exchange report on Thursday, RLC said the new store will be positioned to support the group’s supermarket expansion and generate new recurring lease income.

Robinsons Logistix and Industrials, Inc. (RLX), Robinsons Land’s logistics and industrial unit, will develop the facility inside Sierra Valley Destination Estate in Cainta, Rizal, marking its entry into retail property development after focusing mainly on logistics warehouses.

“Designed to serve both the growing local community and visitors to the estate on Ortigas Avenue Extension, this project reinforces RLX’s role as a builder of scalable, high-impact retail infrastructure,” said Cora Ang Ley, RLC senior vice-president and business unit general manager for RLX.

The Shopwise big-box store will occupy more than 7,000 square meters of land and offer 5,000 square meters of gross leasable space.

Construction is set for completion in the first half of 2027, with store opening targeted by the third quarter.

Big-box stores are larger than typical supermarkets and are designed for high-volume operations and bulk purchasing, catering to middle-income households and small businesses.
