A routine evening in a subdivision in Naga City turned tense on 22 February 2026 when a robbery was reported through the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) Unified 911 system. Authorities responded quickly, apprehending the suspect and recovering stolen items.
At around 8:38 p.m., a 36-year-old male riding a motorcycle entered an unfinished house in Barangay Pacol carrying a sling bag. Subdivision security personnel monitored him and restrained him until police arrived.
Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel from Naga City Police Station 4 reached the scene by 8:47 p.m. Items recovered from the suspect, including electrical wires and tools, were valued at approximately P18,000.
The suspect was informed of the arrest and his constitutional rights in a dialect he understood, underwent a medical examination at a local hospital in Barangay Carolina, and was placed in police custody for proper disposition.
The incident underscores the importance of rapid coordination between community security, Unified 911, and police responders in preventing and addressing crime.
PNP Chief P/Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the event highlights the need for swift, coordinated response, emphasizing community involvement in public safety.
