The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) conducted interagency coordination training at the Cordillera Hall, Camp General Servillano A. Aquino, San Miguel, Tarlac City, aimed at strengthening command and control processes.
Dubbed the Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM) Fusion Center Training, the three-day activity was held from 18 to 20 February 2026.
Participants included officers and enlisted personnel from NOLCOM, OPCOM units, and Joint Task Groups, as well as members of the PH-US Exercise BK41-26 Joint Manning Document (JMD) for the NOLCOM Fusion Center. Personnel from the 15th MEU and MRFSEA also took part in the training.
The activity focused on enhancing individual roles and staff processes within the Command and Control (C2) framework, the Joint Combined Coordination Center (CCC), and at the unified command level. Participants refined procedures and validated standard operating procedures (SOPs) in preparation for CCC employment.
Key components of the training included simulation exercises on Command Coordination Center (CCC) operations, administration and logistics operations, fires and effects coordination, and intelligence operations center processes, integrating both AFP and MRF SOPs.
During the closing ceremony, the Chief of the Unified Command Staff, NOLCOM, Col. Gracioso D. Merioles PA (MNSA), commended participants for their dedication and active engagement throughout the training. He emphasized that NOLCOM remains at the forefront of safeguarding the nation’s northern frontier, describing the Fusion Center as a vital tool in transforming information into actionable intelligence.
Through this initiative, NOLCOM reaffirmed its commitment to operational excellence, joint and combined interoperability, and maintaining a mission-ready force capable of addressing evolving security challenges in Northern Luzon.
