The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) started the 2026 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Examination at various campuses in Central Luzon on Saturday, 21 February 2026.

Aspiring scholars from across the seven provinces of Central Luzon gathered for the first day of the scholarship examination.

The exam will be taking place at 10 testing centers across Region III, with over 9,000 students vying for a chance to secure the prestigious scholarship.

The DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded to academically outstanding incoming college students who wish to pursue degrees in the field of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

It aims to ease financial burden while encouraging students to excel in their studies and contribute to the country’s advancement in science, technology, and innovation.

Benefits include monthly stipend, coverage of tuition and other school fees, thesis allowance, book allowance, transportation allowance, graduation clothing allowance, and group insurance.

Another batch of examinees will be taking the qualifying exam on Sunday, 22 February 2026, seizing the opportunity become an “Iskolar Para sa Bayan."

The DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship is a program by the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) designed to support talented Filipino students pursuing degrees in priority science and technology fields.

Applications for the said scholarship is now closed. The online application period for the 2026-2027 academic year ran from 20 October to 21 November 2025.

Qualifying examinations are scheduled for 21 and 22 February 2026.

The next application cycle for current Grade 12 students (Batch 2027) is expected to be announced in the third quarter of 2026, with applications likely opening in July 2026.
