A masterpiece or heritage
For the church rites, the bride was a vision of refined classicism, donning a 1950s archival gown by National Artist Ramon Valera. Far more than a sartorial choice, the gown served as a living narrative of continuity: originally a Valera masterpiece, it was thoughtfully reimagined by Rajo Laurel for Danielle’s cousin, Tisha de Ocampo Vargas, before being worn once more. This heirloom piece, with its intricate craftsmanship and storied past, stood as a tribute to the nation’s richness in the art of craft. The presence of Danielle’s 98-year-old grandmother, Nita Laurel Yupangco, added a layer of profound meaning, grounding the celebration in a wealth of generational blessings.
