Two construction workers were killed, while four others were injured, in an electrocution incident at a construction site in Barangay Tapao-Tigue, Currimao, Ilocos Norte, on Thursday morning, 19 February.

Police identified the fatalities as Lawrence Albino, 45, of Barangay Torre, and Christopher Queddeng, 47, of Barangay Gaang, both residents of Currimao. They were declared dead at the scene by Dr. Addielou Fidelfio Abad.

The injured were identified as Rogelio Cardenas of Barangay Victoria; Albert Comamo of Barangay Gaang; and Dexter Bagarino and Kalyl Antipolo, both of Barangay Poblacion 1, Currimao. They were rushed to the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMMH&MC) in Batac City for treatment.

According to the Currimao Municipal Police Station, the victims were relocating a four-layer scaffolding used to finish the wall of an under-construction warehouse when it accidentally came into contact with a three-phase primary power line. The live wire caused an electric shock that struck all six workers.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
