Kabataan Party-list Rep. Atty. Renee Co criticized Vice President Sara Duterte’s reported presidential ambitions, saying a 2028 bid would not erase questions of accountability.
“Advance mag-isip? Hindi makakain ang sorry. We need accountability, at hindi ito mapapatawad ng isang Presidential run. Tumatakbo lang si Sara Duterte mula sa pananagutan, hindi para sa bayan. Gaya-gaya siya sa mga Marcos na nag-ambisyong bumalik sa Malacañang para linisin ang kanilang pangalan. Wala na dapat comeback para sa mga korap,” Co said.
The young lawmaker also questioned Duterte’s track record in office.
“Paano maaasahan si Sara Duterte sa 2028 kung unli-bakasyon siya sa kalahati ng termino niya? Legasiya ng UniTeam ang panloloko at pandarambong sa bayan. Isa rin siya sa nagtulak sa mga Pilipino na malunod sa baha ng kahirapan,” Co added.
Addressing the youth sector, Co urged voters not to be confined to established political families.
“Sa kapwa ko kabataan, hindi natin kailangang mamili sa dalawang dinastiyang abusado. Panahon na para umalpas tayo sa pagkabihag sa iilang korap na pamilya. Ito ang panata natin ngayong EDSA: No to Marcos. No to Duterte. No to Political dynasties! Ipaglaban natin ang pananagutan at tunay na gobyerno ng taumbayan,” Co said.
