The Philippine Army received a donation of specialized pulmonology and ophthalmology equipment recently to enhance medical services for soldiers and their families at Fort Bonifacio.
The donation was provided by the Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefits Association Inc. (AFPMBAI) through its Pandemic Response, Hospital, Medical, Equipment and Disaster Control Program.
Army Chief Lt. Gen. Antonio G. Nafarrete and retired Rear Adm. Dorvin Jose L. Legaspi, president and CEO of AFPMBAI, led the ceremonial signing and handover at the Army headquarters. The equipment is earmarked for use by the General Hospital of the Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group.
Army Vice Commander Maj. Gen. Efren F. Morados said the new tools are vital for maintaining the force’s readiness and recovery.
“The strength, bravery and dedication we see in our soldiers are sustained not only by training and discipline, but by the assurance that their health and well-being are protected,” Morados said.
“Each of these items directly contributes to our military treatment facilities’ capability to respond to the evolving healthcare needs of our personnel and their families,” he added.
