A surprise moment at the SexBomb reunion concert quickly turned into a wider conversation online — not just about nostalgia, but about marriage, faith, and personal choices.

Former actor Alvin Aragon addressed the issue after his wife, original SexBomb member Izzy Trazona-Aragon, briefly appeared onstage during the group’s “rAWnd 4” concert. The moment trended on social media, with some netizens questioning whether he had been restrictive about her participation.

Speaking in an interview on DWAR Abante Radyo, Aragon pushed back against accusations that he was controlling.

“Nag-trending ’yung umakyat siya sa stage… ‘Aakyat lang sa stage, kailangan pa ipag-pray.’ Tapos sinasabi nila, controlling ako, pala-desisyon ako, ako ang boss.”

He explained that his perspective comes from his beliefs about family structure and spiritual leadership.

“Hindi, may gobyerno kasi sa family. The husband must take the lead. And ang leader ng husband, ang Panginoong Hesus. And Izzy, actually, nirerespeto niya ’yung leadership ng husband. Lahat ng babae dapat ganun.”

Aragon also clarified rumors that he was the reason his wife stepped away from the group years ago. According to him, her departure predated their marriage and was rooted in a faith decision.

“Sinasabi nila, ’Kaya pala wala sa concert si Izzy dahil diyan sa lalaking ‘yan eh.’ Teka lang ha, matagal nang wala si Izzy sa Sexbomb, 2009 pa lang. Hindi pa nga ako ’yung asawa eh. Sino ang nagpa-resign sa Sexbomb? Ang Panginoon, nung naging Christian si Izzy. Pina-resign ng Lord.”

The interview reframed the viral moment from mere pop-culture buzz into a discussion about belief systems and marital roles — showing how a single nostalgic appearance can reopen conversations about identity, faith, and public perception in the age of social media.
