The Pag-IBIG Fund has partnered with Megawide Construction Corporation to construct more than 7,000 housing units within two years using precast construction technology.
The precast manufacturing facility in Taytay, Rizal, will produce structural components such as walls, slabs, beams, and columns for developments under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (Expanded 4PH).
Precast construction allows building elements to be produced in a controlled plant environment, helping improve quality and reduce construction schedules at the project site. Components are manufactured off-site and later assembled on location, reducing delays caused by weather and other on-site challenges.
Pag-IBIG and Megawide estimate that the 7,000 housing units will be completed within two years. The initiative also includes plans for additional projects using similar methods in the coming months.
According to Pag-IBIG data, the fund invested P10 billion in Megawide preferred shares in 2025 to support the construction of 7,143 medium-rise units in Cavite under the Expanded 4PH program. The agency has approved a total of P27.12 billion in housing development financing, of which P8.5 billion has been released to support the construction of 21,022 socialized housing units.
In 2025, Pag-IBIG released a record P140.54 billion in housing loans, benefiting more than 90,700 Filipino workers under various housing programs, including the Expanded 4PH.
