Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes is embracing one of his most layered roles yet as he takes on the character of Atoy, a man who constantly transforms himself through disguises, in Netflix Philippines' The Master Cutter.

For Dantes, the appeal of playing Atoy lies in the complexity of the character’s shifting identities.

“Portraying the role of Atoy is very interesting because there is a performance within the performance,” he shared. “Atoy as a character, he gets into disguises, sometimes he becomes someone else, becomes a clown or a mafia. As a performer, I like that there is acting within the acting.”

He explained that Atoy’s many personas add depth to the role, allowing him to explore different emotional and psychological layers within a single character. Each transformation, he noted, presents a new challenge and a fresh opportunity to stretch his craft.

In The Master Cutter, Dantes portrays Anthony, a former scout ranger living a double life as a quiet tailor by day and a dangerous bounty hunter by night. Set in Baclaran, the plot thickens when he takes in a girl, only to realize she is his daughter connected to a crime syndicate.
