A black SUV slammed into four parked vehicles along Tomas Morato Avenue early Sunday morning, causing a multi-car collision in one of the city’s busiest entertainment districts.
The incident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. Witnesses reported seeing the SUV traveling at high speeds before it plowed into the line of stationary cars. The force of the impact caused the parked vehicles to ram into one another.
“We were shocked when the car suddenly appeared and went straight for them,” one witness said. “It’s a good thing we weren’t hit, or the two children inside our car would have been in trouble.”
Among the damaged vehicles was a car owned by Adel Pineda, which was the first to be struck. Pineda, who was not inside the vehicle at the time, described the car as a “total wreck” with a bent chassis. Although the engine was still running, Pineda noted a loud, alarming noise that made the vehicle unsafe to drive.
