After two decades of partnership, friendship and faith, Filipino singer Jaya has said “yes” once more to the man who has stood by her through life’s highs and lows, sharing an emotional engagement story that quickly resonated with fans.

In a heartfelt social media post, Jaya revealed that her husband, Gary, surprised her with a proposal on 8 February at the scenic Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. She admitted she had no idea the moment was coming.

“So we just got engaged February 8 in Colorado Springs. My husband Gary surprised me together with our friends by The Garden of the Gods. Whaaaat??? I really had no idea he was going to do this,” she wrote.

The proposal carried special meaning because the couple has already been married for nearly two decades. In 2006, they wed in a civil ceremony while Jaya was six months pregnant, choosing a simple setup at the time. Still, the dream of a church wedding remained.

“We were married by a judge in 2006 while I was 6months pregnant. But we both wanted to do a simple church wedding this year. So I guess he really had to propose 😭 😍,” she shared.

Expressing gratitude and faith, Jaya thanked her husband and reflected on their journey together.

“Honey, thank you for asking me and you know I will always say YES! I thank the Lord for keeping us together all these 20 years. Now we will get to do this under kingdom alignment and give each other our vows, for real! With Jesus Christ in the center, our children and dear friends, we can finally say I do and I will!!! I love you forever my love.”

She also acknowledged the friends who helped orchestrate the surprise, thanking them for planning the proposal behind the scenes.

Adding a playful note, Jaya said the day came with an extra reason for celebration when the Seattle Seahawks won the Super Bowl, joking that it made her husband “crazy happy.”

Tagged with “#GotIDoC20Years,” the post drew praise from fans who described the moment as proof that commitment deepens with time. After 20 years together, Jaya’s renewed “yes” marks not just another engagement, but a reaffirmation of love, faith and family — this time before God, children and friends.
