Contractor Sarah Discaya and Roma Rimando of St. Timothy Construction have filed a petition for bail in their non-bailable malversation case involving an alleged ghost flood control project, their lawyer said Tuesday.
Atty. Cornelio Samaniego III confirmed that the petition was filed before the Lapu-Lapu City Regional Trial Court Branch 27.
In December 2025, the Office of the Ombudsman charged Discaya and others with malversation and graft over a P96.5-million flood control project in Davao Occidental.
Discaya and Rimando have pleaded not guilty and remain detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Jail.
Aside from the malversation case, Discaya is also facing four counts of tax evasion before the Court of Tax Appeals for alleged violations of Sections 254 and 255 of the National Internal Revenue Code.
She has denied all allegations, including claims that she bribed officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways.
