Two suspects were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Ilocos Norte on Sunday, for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In Badoc, operatives of the Badoc Municipal Police Station conducted an anti-illegal drug operation at around 1:42 p.m. in Barangay Ar-arusip. The operation led to the arrest of a 43-year-old self-employed resident, known by his alias “Mamal,” after he was allegedly caught selling one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing approximately 0.05 gram, to a police poseur-buyer.
Authorities recovered from the suspect one genuine ₱1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, along with a blue iPhone 12 Pro Max encased in a gray-and-white rubberized case. Police said all pertinent documents have been prepared for the filing of appropriate charges for violation of RA 9165.
Later that afternoon in Banna, around 4:58 p.m., personnel of the Banna Municipal Police Station conducted a separate buy-bust operation in Barangay 9 Binacag. A 39-year-old married male resident was arrested after allegedly selling one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu to an undercover police officer acting as a poseur-buyer.
Police confiscated the sachet of suspected shabu and one ₱1,000 bill used as buy-bust money. The seized items, with an estimated total weight of about one gram including the plastic sachet, were marked and inventoried on-site.
Case documents have been prepared for the filing of drug charges against the Banna suspect under RA 9165.
