CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A massive anti-drug crackdown across Bulacan led to the arrest of 25 suspects and the seizure of nearly P198,500 worth of suspected shabu in a series of stings ending Monday morning.
The intensified operations, which spanned February 5 to the early hours of February 9, targeted known drug dens and local distribution points across several municipalities, the Bulacan Provincial Police Office (PPO) said in its report to the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3).
The most recent wave of arrests concluded at 1:40 a.m. in Brgy. Igulot, Bocaue, where Calumpit police nabbed two suspects with P20,400 worth of shabu. This followed weekend operations in San Miguel, Malolos, and Paombong, where six others were caught with 15 sachets of the illegal substance valued at P62,560.
Between February 7 and 8, the Guiguinto Municipal Police Station (MPS) also conducted a sting in Brgy. Tuktukan, arresting three individuals late Saturday night. Simultaneous operations in Santa Maria and Pulilan resulted in three more arrests, with the two-day subtotal reaching P45,560 in confiscated drugs.
The week’s operations were highlighted by a major raid in Brgy. Poblacion, Plaridel, where seven suspects were caught inside a private residence allegedly operating as a drug den. While targeting two primary suspects, aliases “Dandan” and “Dugal,” officers discovered five other men mid-pot session, the report said.
Additional arrests in Calumpit, Norzagaray, and Obando further padded the tally, bringing the total estimated value of seized shabu to approximately P198,500.
Bulacan Provincial Director PCOL Angel Garcillano credited the high volume of arrests to the synchronized efforts of various Municipal Police Stations and the Station Drug Enforcement Units (SDEU).
"These successive operations prove our firm stand against criminality. We are focused on sustaining this momentum to ensure the safety of every Bulakenyo," Garcillano stated.
PBGEN Ponce Rogelio Peñones, Regional Director of PRO3, commended the Bulacan police for their relentless efforts, noting that the successful operations serve as a motivation for the entire regional force to further intensify the campaign against illegal drugs and maintain public order.
All 25 suspects are currently detained and face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165). The confiscated evidence has been submitted to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
