Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation has brought back the Mitsubishi Versa Van to the Philippine market. The nameplate once held a steady role in daily transport across the country.

The Versa Van first appeared locally in 1987 as part of the L300 cab chassis range. It drew from the Mitsubishi Delica platform, which supported both passenger and cargo use.

Over the years, the van became common as a school service vehicle and family transport. Small businesses also used it for shuttle operations. Its layout and mechanical simplicity allowed long service life under routine use.

The new Versa Van serves as a passenger vehicle built for regular use. Mitsubishi directs the model at small and medium-sized enterprises that operate daily transport services.

Typical users include school service providers and companies that run shuttle services for employees or guests. The vehicle emphasizes seating capacity and ease of access for repeated routes.

The Versa Van uses a 2.5-liter diesel engine rated at 129 PS at 3,200 rpm and 356 Nm of torque from 1,400 to 2,000 rpm. A five-speed manual transmission is standard. The setup suits stop-and-go driving and full passenger loads on urban and provincial routes.

The Versa Van seats up to 15 people, including the driver. Operators can transport larger groups in one trip. The interior layout allows passenger movement through the cabin. Seat placement leaves clear walkways. Foldable seats reduce crowding during boarding and unloading.

Ceiling-mounted air-conditioning outlets serve each seating row and distribute airflow across the cabin during full-capacity trips. The driver’s area includes adjustable seating and steering for extended driving hours common in shuttle and service work.

The cabin includes space for luggage and equipment used in shuttle and tourism operations. A wider rear door opening allows quicker loading and unloading at pick-up and drop-off points.

Key service components are positioned for easier access during routine checks and repairs. This reduces service time and limits days off the road for operators with daily schedules.

The Mitsubishi Versa Van is offered locally in a single GLX MT variant. The listed price stands at P1,649,000. Exterior color choices include Silver Metallic and White Solid.

Mitsubishi said the return of the Versa Van shows continued demand for straightforward passenger vehicles that support everyday business operations. The company pointed to the model’s long history in the local market and its use across different transport roles over several decades.
