Magnolia will parade a new face as reinforcement for next month’s Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup.
Six-foot-9 veteran internationalist Terrel Brown-Soares arrived over the weekend to hook up with the Hotshots for the mid-season tournament slated to begin on 11 March.
Head coach LA Tenorio met with the undrafted National Basketball Association (NBA) power forward on Sunday.
Brown-Soares has seen action in the Czech Republic, Mexico and Poland.
“He’s a new import. Hopefully, he’ll fit in well with the team,” Tenorio said of the University of San Diego product.
Meanwhile, NLEX and Phoenix also opted to tap new talents as imports.
The Road Warriors brought in Cady Lalanne of Haiti, while the Fuel Masters, under new coach Charles Tiu, signed James Dickey.
Lalanne, standing 6-foot-10, was a second round pick of the San Antonio Spurs in the 2015 draft but only played for their affiliate Austin Spurs, in the NBA G League.
He played in Puerto Rico, China, Italy, Turkey, Spain, South Korea, Kuwait, and recently in Taiwan with the Kaohsiung Aquas.
Dickey is listed at 6-foot-10 out of North Carolina Greensboro.
Although going undrafted in the NBA, Dickey suited up for clubs in Hungary, Germany, Israel, France, Ukraine and Indonesia.
Dickey was also a teammate of Barangay Ginebra resident import Justin Brownlee at Pelita Jaya where they won a championship in the Indonesian Basketball League back in 2024.
