Rizal provincial police apprehended five high-profile fugitives, including one of the region’s most wanted suspects, during a series of operations Saturday.
The arrests and surrenders took place across the municipalities of Morong, Rodriguez and Cardona, according to the Rizal Police Provincial Office.
In Rodriguez, police arrested a murder suspect identified by the alias “Tapang” at the municipal police station. The suspect was taken into custody at approximately 7 p.m. after an active warrant was discovered while they were applying for a national police clearance.
Earlier that evening, Rodriguez police also arrested a suspect identified as “Dens” in Barangay San Isidro.
He faces charges for violating the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016, with bail set at P300,000.
In Cardona, a tracker team arrested two suspects on drug-related charges. One suspect, a 37-year-old identified as “Ingkat,” is listed as one of the region’s most wanted persons. The second, identified as “Rick,” is considered a provincial most wanted suspect.
Both face charges for the illegal sale and possession of dangerous drugs under warrants issued by the Binangonan Regional Trial Court, which recommended no bail.
In Morong, a 58-year-old man identified as a provincial-level most wanted person voluntarily surrendered to local authorities around 1:30 p.m. He is facing charges of qualified theft with no recommended bail.
All five individuals are currently being held in custodial facilities pending documentation and the return of their warrants to the courts of origin.
