First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos welcomed the newly elected officials of the Asian Cultural Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing cultural exchanges between Asia and the United States.
“Every day is a chance to help keep culture alive,” the First Lady wrote on her official Instagram account.
“At the recent meeting of the Asian Cultural Council, we welcomed our new board members and listened to their novel ideas on helping deserving Filipino artists,” Araneta-Marcos added.
Since 1963, the Asian Cultural Council has been fostering cultural exchange between the US and Asia through direct grants to artists, scholars, and organizations.
Even before she became First Lady, culture and the arts have been a cause for Araneta-Marcos, as she sat on the board of the Asian Cultural Council.
Araneta-Marcos is a known patron of Filipino culture, arts, film and historical heritage.
