Items left behind by members of a communist terrorist group (CTG) were found by authorities at Barangay Kabayunan in the town of Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan, on 30 January 2026.
According to the Philippine Army (PA), troops of the 70th Infantry Battalion, 7th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, conducted security operations under the supervision of Joint Task Group 7-2 (JTG 7-2) in the aforementioned area.
The operation was carried out following information provided by a concerned citizen, which led to the recovery of various items believed to have been owned and previously utilized by the Dismantled Komiteng Rehiyon Gitnang Luzon (DKRGL) and the Dismantled KLG Narciso.
Recovered items include: a plastic gallon containing rice; a Wilkins plastic container with rice; an M16A1 lower receiver with serial number RP 181892; and an M16A1 rifle barrel.
The recovery of these items highlights the continued degradation of CTG logistical support and armed capability in the area, resulting from sustained security presence and the increasing cooperation of local communities.
The items were reportedly abandoned due to constant pressure from government forces, preventing CTG remnants from regrouping or restoring their former operational capability.
Brigadier General Eugenio Julio C. Osias IV PA, Commander of Joint Task Group 7-2, emphasized that the success of the operation reflects the effectiveness of close coordination among operating units and the crucial role of community support in maintaining peace and order.
"This accomplishment highlights the vital role of community cooperation in our security efforts. The information provided by a concerned citizen significantly contributed to the recovery of firearm components and logistical supplies belonging to the dismantled KRGL and KLG Narciso. This further confirms that these groups no longer possess the capability to conduct organized armed activities,” Brig. Gen. Osias IV said.
He also encouraged continued public participation in safeguarding communities.
“We urge the public to remain vigilant and continue supporting government efforts by promptly reporting any information that may help prevent the resurgence of terrorist groups. Together, we can sustain peace, security, and development in our communities,” he added.
The Philippine Army assures the public that security operations will continue in close coordination with local government units and partner agencies to ensure lasting peace and stability in Bulacan and neighboring areas.
