First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos recently attended the 21st Enrique Zobel Memorial Polo Cup, sharing glimpses of the event on her official Instagram.
“An afternoon well spent at the Manila Polo Club for the 21st Enrique Zobel Memorial Cup, celebrating tradition, sportsmanship, and a legacy that lives on,” she wrote.
The tournament also saw the presence of former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, who took a break from his ongoing controversies to join the occasion.
Launched in 2005 in honor of the late industrialist and polo icon Enrique J. Zobel, the annual cup has become one of Manila’s most anticipated sporting and society events. It celebrates Zobel’s legacy as the first Filipino president of the Manila Polo Club in the 1960s and his contributions to promoting polo and real estate development in Makati and beyond.
Held at the historic Manila Polo Club, the tournament brings together top local and international players while highlighting the club’s transformation into a Filipino-led institution under Zobel’s guidance.
The event is hosted by the Enrique Zobel Foundation Inc., along with prominent luxury car brands.
The Foundation focuses on education, community health, nutrition, and socio-economic programs, aiming to uplift communities first in Calatagan, Batangas, and eventually nationwide. Through partnerships with both private and public sectors, it implements sustainable programs to empower individuals and improve communities.
