Residents took to the streets on foot, bicycles and skates Sunday as Taguig marked the 38th consecutive week of its “Car-Free Streets” initiative.

The program temporarily closes selected major thoroughfares to motor vehicles every Sunday from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. to encourage physical activity and community interaction.

The initiative currently covers Cayetano Boulevard and the C5 Service Road, converting them into shared public spaces for outdoor sports and wellness sessions.

City officials said the program is designed to promote alternative modes of transport while providing a safe environment for residents to exercise.

In addition to space for jogging and cycling, the city provided free bicycle lessons, basic maintenance services, and organized rides for children and adults.
