Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. met with Pampanga provincial leaders to discuss a suite of development projects aimed at boosting local food production and integrating provincial data with national systems.

During the meeting at the Capitol Building, Laurel, Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda and Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda outlined proposals for small rice complexes, irrigation systems, and cultivation projects on government-owned land.

The officials also discussed the implementation of farm-to-market roads. Under the proposal, local farmers would participate in the planning process to verify the necessity and location of the new infrastructure.

Following the meeting, Laurel visited the provincial Command and Control Center in Barangay Sindalan to evaluate Pampanga’s agricultural data system.

Executive Assistant IV Angelina Blanco presented an integrated platform featuring detailed farmer profiles and geographic information system mapping of the province’s farmlands.

Laurel praised the province’s digital initiatives, noting that the Department of Agriculture is considering a memorandum of agreement for data sharing once the system is fully operational.
