BAGUIO CITY — A college student was killed while his brother was injured after the motorcycle they were riding plunged into a ravine along the roadside in the early morning of 18 January 2026 in Bontoc, Mountain Province.
The fatality was a criminology student, while his brother, the motorcycle driver, sustained injuries. Both are residents of Dalimuno, Bantay, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
The incident occurred at Sitio Dantay, Barangay Alab Oriente, Bontoc, Mountain Province, at around 2:30 a.m.
Bontoc Municipal Police Station (MPS) reported that the student was found trapped between bamboo trees, approximately five meters below the road. The victim was brought to the Bontoc General Hospital morgue.
According to the initial police investigation, the siblings were traveling from Barangay Bontoc Ili toward Dantay, Bontoc, when the motorcycle overshot a curved portion of the road, causing them to fall off the roadside.
