As the most nutritious drink, free milk-feeding is part of the Department of Education’s feeding program for primary students in remote public schools to help them learn better. The program is supported by Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) and Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc. through the Alaskaramay.

Under the collaboration, when shoppers buy participating Alaska Milk products at Robinsons Retail stores, part of the amount per pack is automatically set aside to fund the milk-feeding for undernourished kinder, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students. The feeding is good for 120 days for three years.

For the educational and nutritional benefits that Alaskaramay gives to young learners, AMC was recognized as Asia’s Most Community Centric Company for 2025 at the Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Awards (ACES). The award was given at the ACES ceremony in Bali.

Helping implement the program are teachers and health workers who track students’ height and weight, making sure the milk really helps them grow healthier and stronger.

AMC also donates to schools electric fans and TVs to make learning more fun — especially in crowded schools.

In November, the Alaskaramay program rolled out milk-feeding activities in Antipolo City and Zambales. Students from Calawis Elementary School, Mayamot Elementary School, and Baquillan Resettlement II Elementary School received Alaska Fortified Powdered Milk Drink.

Launched back in 2021 during the pandemic, AlasKaramay has shown that with the right partnerships, good ideas can grow into lasting support for students nationwide.

Jacky Quilantang, former AMC Robinsons team lead and one of the people behind the program, said, “AlasKaramay was built to last. By linking purpose with everyday shopping, we made sure help keeps coming to kids who need it most.”

Through AlasKaramay, AMC shows that helping students grow healthier can be done through a glass of milk drank day after day.

Quilantang said that AlasKaramay was built to be sustained.

“By embedding purpose into a commercial partnership, we ensured that everyday purchases consistently translate into nutrition for children who need it most,” she said.
