The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has reassigned two regional directors to its central office following allegations of corruption, Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao announced Thursday.
In a statement, the LTO said that the memorandum affects the heads of LTO Region 7 and Region 4B.
Lacanilao disclosed that the reassignments were implemented to ensure the officials cannot influence an impartial investigation into the claims.
The move follows Department of Transportation Office Order No. 2026-011. Lacanilao said the action aligns with his seven-point agenda for the agency, which prioritizes transparency and the elimination of unethical practices.
“This reassignment is a clear signal of our resolve to pursue justice without compromise,” Lacanilao said. “We will not allow any individual to hinder efforts to cleanse our ranks and restore public trust in the LTO’s services.”
The Department of Transportation will lead the investigation through its designated oversight office. Officials said the findings will be released to the public once the inquiry is complete.
