LIPA CITY — Nath Alcantara scored 35 points while Rafael Diaz had 34 as Malarayat 1 seized a three-point lead in the Championship Division of the third Barako Cup at the Malarayat Golf and Country Club on Wednesday.
Malarayat 1 also drew a 32 from Jakob Taruc to gain a total of 101 points, three points ahead of Fiesta Mall’s 98. Team Master assembled 95 followed closely by Pelican 1’s 92.
Meanwhile, it was a tight competition in Division 1 Team JT Moland posting 96 points to post a 12-point lead over Malarayat 2 with 84.
Vicente Jose Roxas posted 34 points while Clifford Bertulfo had 28 and Paolo Katigbak chipped in 24 for Team JT Moland.
Over at Summit Point Golf and Country Club, Jackrabbits 1, spearheaded by the 24s of Randy Aguillo and JP Gutierrez, was on top of Division 2 with 74 points.
Jackrabbits 2, on the other hand, kicked off its campaign in Division 3 with 61 points while SB Barako stayed within striking distance with 60.
