The house of an active member of the Philippine Army was robbed at the AFP-PNP Housing in Barangay Dalig, Teresa, Rizal on Sunday afternoon.
The victim—identified only as alias Florex, 48—discovered the burglary at around 2 PM after returning from Antipolo City to purchase construction materials.
Based on the investigation of the Teresa Municipal Police Station, the victim was shocked to find the main door of his house was already open.
Upon inspection of the premises, the victim discovered that his personal belongings were allegedly scattered inside the house. The terrace door located on the second floor of the house was also open.
Investigators found no signs of forced entry to the doors and windows of the house. However, footprints were found at the open door of both terrace and ground floor.
The robber carted away the victim's issued service firearm pistol Glock 17 9mm with serial number AFP020280; jewelry worth more or less P200,000; Huawei cellphone worth Ph24,000; and cash worth P30,000.
The spare magazines of the stolen firearm were left behind because the victim had them in his body bag when he left.
Authorities also asked nearby bystanders if they saw suspicious somebody sighted at the time declared by the victim but they allegedly saw no one at the said place.
Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine how the burglars entered the house without destroying the door and to recover the stolen items, particularly the firearm which is considered a 'hot item'.
