The local government of Cainta has launched a townwide cleanup drive aimed at improving sanitation, order, and public safety across the municipality.
Under the “Tapat ko, Sagot ko” campaign, residents are encouraged to maintain cleanliness in front of their homes, while commercial establishments are expected to keep their premises and surrounding streets tidy. Daily inspections by municipal teams will ensure compliance in residential areas.
Mayor Keith Nieto said the program focuses on proper waste segregation, clearing street litter, cleaning up pet waste, trimming untrimmed trees, and removing illegal parking.
“Every resident and business owner has a role in keeping our town clean and orderly,” Nieto said. “The program encourages active participation so that we can maintain a safe and healthy environment for everyone.”
The municipal government has deployed nine street sweeping teams that operate daily and continues regular garbage collection—once or twice a week in residential areas and every other day for commercial districts. Special teams have also been assigned to collect non-standard waste, including wood, stones, sand, and broken furniture.
Measures to improve waste management include upgrading transfer stations and installing wash pits and dipping areas to prevent wastewater and debris from spilling onto roads. The local government is also planning to purchase modern machinery to accelerate waste processing and recycling, reducing reliance on landfills.
The program benefits residents, commuters, and local businesses by providing a cleaner, safer, and more organized town environment, while promoting community responsibility and environmental awareness.
