  • Naglabas ng babala ang Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) laban sa ilang Nestlé infant formula products, kabilang ang NAN, ALFAMINO, S-26 GOLD, at S-26 ULTIMA, matapos magsagawa ang kumpanya ng voluntary recall.

    Ayon sa SFDA, sakop ng recall ang ilang partikular na batch na posibleng kontaminado ng cereulide, isang toxin na ginagawa ng Bacillus cereus, na maaaring magdulot ng panganib sa kalusugan ng mga sanggol.

    Nilinaw ng ahensya na precautionary ang recall at wala pang naitatala na kaso ng pagkakasakit na may kaugnayan sa mga apektadong produkto sa Saudi Arabia. Ang exposure sa cereulide ay maaaring magdulot ng pagduduwal, madalas na pagsusuka, at pananakit ng tiyan.

    Pinayuhan ang mga consumer na agad itigil ang paggamit ng mga apektadong batch at itapon ang mga ito nang maayos.

    Dagdag pa ng SFDA, mahigpit nilang binabantayan ang pag-pull out ng mga produkto sa merkado katuwang ang Nestlé, at patuloy ang kanilang food safety monitoring. Hinikayat din ang publiko na mag-report ng anumang concern o paglabag sa pamamagitan ng Unified Call Center (19999) o ng “Saudi Vigilance” service.
