Passenger arrivals in the Philippines reached more than 15.6 million in 2025, marking a nearly 6 percent increase from the previous year, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported Thursday.

Immigration commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said officers at all international ports recorded 15,608,868 arrivals from January to December and the total includes 6,704,007 foreign nationals.

The 2025 figure surpasses the 14,733,597 arrivals recorded in 2024.

Viado said the bureau is “aggressively modernizing” its operations to accommodate the rising volume of travelers.

“We are expanding automated systems, upgrading facilities, and strengthening our manpower to ensure faster, more secure, and more convenient immigration services,” Viado said. “These reforms are essential to facilitating legitimate travel for tourists and other travelers.”

Viado added that the agency remains focused on digitalization and efficient service while maintaining a high level of vigilance against transnational crimes and travel-related abuses.
