Slow days are over, and work mode starts today!
After a short break, and time to indulge in sumptuous feasts with family and friends, Filipinos are ready to face the daily demands of working, studying, enduring the traffic, coping with stresses and a fresh bout of challenges the new year may bring.
Refreshed from their long holiday vacation, students are perhaps raring to take up their formal studies again, for they need it just as much as they learn from the rigors of daily life.
For parents, it’s the start of saving anew for the future, especially with the upcoming graduation of their beloved sons and daughters.
And for government, it’s once again time to focus on a hopeful direction for the future of the Filipino people. Much is at stake from their real, honest and genuine service.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., in his New Year’s message, called on every Filipino to embrace 2026 with discipline, confidence, and a shared commitment to the country’s progress.
“For beyond personal resolutions, the new year calls on us to examine how we live with one another, how we lift one another, and how our choices shape our nation,” the Chief Executive added.
For the rest of Filipinos, headwinds and natural catastrophes will remain inevitable.
But as we all utter during those times of tribulations: “Pagsubok ka lang, Pilipino kami!”
May the year 2026 be good and better than the last!
