As global trade begins to rebound, containers stack like towering promises of prosperity, pushing International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) to surge forward under the visionary leadership of Enrique K. Razon Jr.
It expanded its reach across continents with bold acquisitions and investments in recent years — from Brazil to Africa — solidifying its place as a true Filipino multinational powerhouse.
This Christmas season, that success cascaded down in a wave of extraordinary generosity.
Rank-and-file employees, the steadfast backbone of the company, each received P30,000 in holiday cheer, a tangible token of appreciation for their unwavering dedication amid rapid growth.
But the true marvel was the enhanced health card benefits, now worth a staggering P1 million each, offering comprehensive coverage that shields families from life’s unforeseen storms.
To say the least, the announcement left employees misty-eyed, overwhelmed by this unparalleled Christmas bonanza that felt like more than a bonus; it was a profound acknowledgment of their shared triumphs.
Affectionately known as EKR and recently honored as the first-ever Filipino of the Year by the Daily Tribune for his trailblazing contributions, the ICTSI chief once again proved why he inspires such loyalty.
Across offices and terminals, employees whispered the same heartfelt sentiment: “EKR has gifted us the happiest Christmas ever.”
In a world of corporate milestones, this was a moment of pure humanity — a reminder that authentic leadership lifts everyone along the journey. DT
Recycler president?
After former Philippine National Police chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III was “rehomed” and installed as general manager of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, another former official is poised to return as commissioner of a government agency. This plum post has long tempted many “hungry” officials.
“It seems he has a fondness for recycling. What has already been spat out is being taken back,” a source told Nosy Tarsee.
The returning official, who is already making his presence felt in his former domain, is not the sole contender for the position. A retired general is also reportedly in the running.
“The former official seems to think the job is already his. He has even started conducting ocular inspections there,” the source added.
So, if the incumbent agency chief is indeed set to be replaced, where is he headed?
Apparently, he is being groomed for an even higher post — one that leads a department that includes his current agency.
“His seat has not even warmed yet, and he is already moving on to a higher position. That’s it!” the squealer said.
