Rock and roll

The force of nature can be harmful sometimes. One Monday in December, strong gusts of wind blasted trees out of the ground in upstate New York in the United States.
If that power could uproot trees, it could easily knock people off their feet. True enough, Hamburg resident Diane Miller was literally blown away. When she went to her daughter’s house on a visit on 29 December, a 70-mile-per-hour wind prevented her from opening the screen door, lifting her instead off the porch, down the steps, and into the bushes, New York Post (NYP) reports.
The door camera caught Miller’s fall.
“It happened so quickly, I couldn’t believe it was happening,” Miller told NYP. “Never in a million years did I think I would go flying in the air like a kite.”
Fortunately, she was not hurt. Her daughter came out and helped her get up and go into the house.
Meanwhile, at the Walt Disney World theme park in Florida, people were watching the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at the Hollywood Studios on New Year’s Eve.
The show was reenacting a thrilling scene in the Harrison Ford movie, “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” where a giant boulder rolls off a rocky ledge and chases the actor playing archeologist-treasure hunter Indiana Jones.
However, as the prop rock was rolling, it bounced toward the audience, NYP reports. A video of the scene taken by a spectator shows one crew member appearing in front of the audience to block the boulder and stop it from hitting them.
The studio staffer stopped the boulder but it knocked him to the ground, according to NYP.
One audience member’s post on the online forum Reddit said the injured employee suffered a cut in the head and was given medical care.
