FlipTop, the Philippines’ premier professional rap battle league, has joined growing calls to dismantle corruption and hold those involved accountable.

In a video uploaded on 31 December 2025, Mhot and Tipsy D were initially set to take the stage, but league founder Alaric Yuson, better known as Anygma, addressed the crowd instead.

“I think there’s enough time to do our part while you still have the energy,” Anygma said in Filipino during Ahon 16, which ran from 13 to 14 December 2025.

He then led the crowd in chanting the now-familiar protest line, “Ikulong na ’yan mga kurakot!” with spectators joining in for around 15 seconds.

Beyond competitive rap battles, the FlipTop stage has long been a platform for tackling social and political issues rooted in the rappers’ lived experiences.

One of the artists known for bringing such themes to the forefront is Vitrum, a member of the FlipTop community since 2019. He is widely regarded as among the league’s most prominent voices addressing social injustice directly through his performances.

Social media posts have also highlighted Vitrum’s participation in mass demonstrations, alongside his Facebook posts expressing opposition to corruption and dissatisfaction with governance.
