Globe eyes growth after NCS deal
Published on

Ayala-backed Globe Telecom, Inc. expects stronger capital efficiency and long-term revenue growth after completing its joint venture with Singapore-based NCS Pte. Ltd.

The company said Friday that under the agreement, Globe now holds 49 percent while NCS owns 51 percent of Yondu Inc.

Yondu will acquire NCSI Philippines, Inc., and will be renamed NCS Philippines. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

The deal completes an agreement signed in March last year and strengthens the joint venture’s ability to deliver digital, cloud, data, and artificial intelligence solutions to clients.

Globe Chief Finance Officer, Treasurer, and Chief Risk Officer Carlo Puno said the joint venture will improve capital efficiency and support sustainable revenue growth while giving the company greater flexibility to invest in next-generation ICT solutions.

Meanwhile, Globe President and CEO Carl Raymond R. Cruz said the partnership will help scale its ICT services beyond the Philippines and expand its reach across the Asia-Pacific region.

“The successful close of this agreement marks a powerful moment for Globe.

We are now better equipped than ever to deepen our commitment and deploy world-class ICT solutions for our customers, while simultaneously creating the robust platform necessary to accelerate the expansion of our services and customer base across APAC,” Cruz said.

For NCS, the joint venture supports its regional expansion and internationalisation strategy.

Chief Executive Officer Ng Kuo Pin said the deal significantly expands the company’s Philippines presence, scaling its local workforce to more than 1,200 professionals and strengthening its delivery capabilities.

“Closing this joint venture represents a significant step forward in NCS’ APAC growth and our internationalisation focus,” Ng said, noting that clients will gain broader access to the firm’s digital, cloud, data, and artificial intelligence expertise across the region.

Rey Untal, Country Managing Director of NCS Philippines, said the transaction also creates more growth opportunities for Philippine-based talent, allowing teams to take on regional roles and work on digital transformation projects.
