For more than three decades, Museo Pambata has stood as a place of wonder for Filipino children. On its 31st year, its annual Christmas gift-giving held 10 days before Christmas Eve became one of the museum’s most inclusive gatherings.
This year’s celebration opened its doors to community partners as they successfully created moments of delight for kids. These groups included children from Special Olympics Pilipinas (children with mental disabilities), Talking Hands (hard of hearing or deaf children), Club Foot PH (children with physical disabilities born with club foot), children with parents who are persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) who are supported by the Philippine Jesuit Prison Service, Inc., children from ChildHope Philippines and Virlanie Foundation and the White Cross Orphanage.
Beyond the walls of the museum, the spirit of giving extended further still. Museo Pambata sent gift bags to the pediatric cancer ward of the Philippine General Hospital to young patients spending Christmas in care.
For Museo Pambata, every child deserves access to play, learning, dignity and joy.
This belief gained international recognition this year when the United Nations Office of Partnerships and the UN Fashion and Lifestyle Network formally recognized Museo Pambata Foundation Inc. as a partner in advancing Sustainable Development Goal 4 — ensuring inclusive, equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
The museum is the first cultural institution to join the UN ECOSOC and UNFLN network, reinforcing its role in championing creativity, education and child-centered spaces for diverse communities.
It was a moving milestone occasion with a strong message: inclusion is not an aspiration, but a practice, nurtured year after year.
The smiles, laughter and small moments of wonder shared during the gift-giving were reminders that communities grow stronger when children are seen, valued and invited to belong. Museo Pambata continues to uphold its mission to create a kinder and more imaginative world for Filipino children, one story and one celebration at a time.
