QC shooting suspects behind bars

Police arrested a 47-year-old man Friday in connection with a Christmas Day shooting that left one person wounded in Barangay Payatas.
The suspect, identified as alias “Elmer,” allegedly opened fire on a group of people celebrating the holiday outside a motorcycle shop along IBP Road around 3 a.m. Wednesday.
According to a report from Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station Commander Lt. Col. Rowena Amata, the suspect punched a member of the group before the victim attempted to flee.
The suspect then fired a handgun, striking the victim in the head and left arm. The victim was rushed to Rosario Maclang General Hospital for treatment.
Acting Quezon City Police District director Randy Glenn Silvio said officers arrested the suspect at his own motorcycle shop about an hour after the incident.
Investigators recovered a .45-caliber pistol, a magazine, seven rounds of live ammunition and two spent shell casings.
During the operation, police also took three women — identified as Angela, Roselyn, and Shaira — and a 16-year-old girl into custody. Authorities allege the four individuals deliberately obstructed responding officers and shouted insults during the arrest.
