Brash showboater Jake Paul received a double whammy in his recent boxing match with two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in Miami, Florida, USA. 

Briton Joshua sent the 28-year-old Paul to the canvas in the fifth and sixth rounds before the American YouTuber-turned-boxer was counted out by the referee for failing to rise from a knockdown, according to reports. 

The injured Paul then drove himself to the hospital, where X-rays showed a broken upper and lower jaw. 

“We will heal the broken jaw, come back, and fight people my weight. I’m going for the cruiserweight world title,” he said, according to the BBC. 

Meanwhile, new brides from China’s Gelao ethnic group in the western part of Guizhou province do a bizarre wedding ritual, which results in a boxing-like injury. 

The ritual that dates back to the Southern Song dynasty (1127-1279) is in honor of a woman’s bravery for pushing through with her wedding even after falling off a cliff while gathering fruits and being badly injured, South China Morning Post (SCMP) reports.
